Coming this fall: Poverty Awareness programs.... "A Framework for Understanding Poverty" September 18, 2008 Dr. Ruby K. Payne will be speaking on the campus of Shawnee State University 7:00 p.m. Flohr Lecture Hall, Clark Memorial Library 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, OH Sponsored by: Shawnee State University Women's Center and the Literacy Council of Scioto County. Open to the public. Free. Autographed books will be sold. and as a follow-up: based in part from Dr. Ruby K. Payne's "framework"...Now I understand the people I am serving... October 22, 2008 One day workshop "Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Communities and Professionals" presented by Terie Druessi Smith co-author with Dr. Ruby K. Payne and Philip DeVol of the book with the same title. 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Registration begins @ 8:30 a.m. Open to the public. Free. Lunch will be served.
