The
vision for the Literacy Council of Scioto County is to raise the literacy rate
of residents of Scioto County. The LCSD will be a driving force in the
community: communicating, collaborating and supporting literacy efforts
among member organizations, committees, and others. Our
Mission The Literacy Council of Scioto County (LCSC) will strive to improve
communication among the various agencies, committees, school systems and
other organizations that are involved in local literacy efforts.
Additionally, the LCSC is charged with improving collaboration and efficiency
of service delivery among the various providers. The LCSC will strive
to support the programs which address the low literacy rate in the community
and in the surrounding Scioto County. New Literacy Council Director Sought
In
June, Tess Midkiff will complete her term as Interim Director of the Literacy
Council of Scioto County and a new part-time director will be selected. The director is responsible to improve
communication and collaboration between existing literacy service providers. As appropriate, the Director will plan,
develop, facilitate, publicize, and implement events that promote literacy
throughout the county. The Director
maintains a website and produces a newsletter. Fundraising and grant writing skills are
necessary. Applicants should include a
letter of interest and resume.
