Our Vision

The vision for the Literacy Council of Scioto County is to raise the literacy rate of residents of Scioto County.  The LCSD will be a driving force in the community:  communicating, collaborating and supporting literacy efforts among member organizations, committees, and others.

Our Mission

The Literacy Council of Scioto County (LCSC) will strive to improve communication among the various agencies, committees, school systems and other organizations that are involved in local literacy efforts.  Additionally, the LCSC is charged with improving collaboration and efficiency of service delivery among the various providers.  The LCSC will strive to support the programs which address the low literacy rate in the community and in the surrounding Scioto County.
